Intercultural collaboration

Day three of facade renovation work on the Max-Liebling House

It is half-time for the first group of trainee plasterers in Tel Aviv. On their third day, the German-Israeli team had the task of plastering large areas of the facade of the Max-Liebling House. This enabled these young craftspeople to benefit from an intercultural exchange. For example, the German trainees were able to provide some helpful tips about processing the fine-grained facade plaster. The plasterers exchanged a lot of information about their experience in the plastering of buildings: Working together, learning from one another and arranging leisure time together. These components all contribute to a transnational cultural exchange in Tel Aviv.

The charitable Sto Foundation is organising and financing the extensive facade renovation work of four German-Israeli teams, each of whom will be living and working together for a ten-day period in the city between the end of March and mid-May 2019. The plan is for three teams of five trainee plasterers from the vocational training school and the vocational training centre in Leonberg to each work for one week on the facade of the Max-Liebling House. After the cracks have been renovated and any damaged plasterwork has been touched up, seven trainee painters & decorators from seven German vocational training schools will apply a gleaming new coat of paintwork to the facade.
